Rawalpindi :Renowned artists presented spectacular stage performances on the fourth day of the ongoing Regional Drama Festival 2025 organized by Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi. This festival is being organized on the special instructions of Ms. Uzma Bukhari, Minister for Information and Culture, Government of Punjab, to revive family theater in Punjab.
The stage play “Jhoot Moot ” presented on the fourth day won the hearts of the audience. The play was written by renowned actor and writer Aslam Mughal, while Sapna Shah, Aslam Mughal, Yar Muhammad, Imran Rushdi, Abbass nana and Maryam showed their unparalleled acting skills in the lead roles.
The story of the play was delivered a powerful social message wrapped in humour and satire it highlights how some Pakistanis after going abroad,resort to lies and greed bringing a bad name to their country . The play urges individuals to uphold the dignity of their homeland and to value their relationship-reminding us that blood relations remain our own, no matter where life takes us , which was well appreciated by the audience. The performances of the artists took the standard of family entertainment to new heights and the audience termed the return of theater to the stage as a welcome initiative.
The aim of organizing the festival is to provide a platform to local artists and promote family entertainment. This effort of the Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi is an important step in the cultural development of Punjab.
