21 drug peddlers, bootleggers, illegal weapon holders netted

RAWALPINDI :Rawalpindi police in an action against suspected drug peddlers, bootleggers, illegal weapon holders and other lawbreakers here on Friday arrested 21 accused besides recovering over six kg drugs, fireworks items, 80 liters liquor, weapons and other items from their possession.

A police spokesperson said that Civil Lines police rounded up a fireworks dealer namely Tariq and recovered fireworks items from his possession.
Pirwadhai, Race Course, Airport, Wah Cantt, Saddar Baroni, Rawat and Chontra police conducted raids in their respective jurisdiction and rounded up nine accused namely Abdullah, Irfan, Babar Mukhtar, Nadeem, Afaq, Rashid, Rafiullah, Noor Muhammad and Sajjad and recovered nine 30 bore pistols, ammunition and other items from their possession.
Wah Cantt and Taxila police also arrested Ismail, Sagheer, Zeeshan, Taimoor, and Sohail and recovered a total 80 liters liquor from their possession.

The spokesman further informed that Rawalpindi district police while conducting raids arrested six accused namely Habib Elahi, Mazhar Shehzad, Zulqarnain, Sajawal, Nasir Rashid, Arif, and recovered over six kg charras.
Separate cases have been registered against all the accused while further investigations are underway.
City Police Officer, Rawalpindi had directed the police officers to accelerate ongoing operations against drug peddlers, bootleggers, and other lawbreakers, he added.
