NA Speaker Attends Launch of “She Power” Project for Balochistan Women at Chinese Embassy
Healthy and Educated Women & Children are the Cornerstone of Strong and Progressive Society
Islamabad: The Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq attended the opening ceremony of the “She Power: Women’s Health Kits Project”, at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, today. While addressing the distinguished gathering as Chief guest, the Speaker said, “Healthy and educated women and children are the cornerstone of a strong and progressive society.” Speaker NA further stated that their well-being has always remained my top priority. He also lauded the present initiative by the Chinese Government, which aimed to address women’s health and hygiene issues in Balochistan. Speaker NA added, “The project is a testament of the enduring friendship and continuous cooperation between Pakistan and China.”
In his speech, the Speaker extended heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for their unwavering support in the development and well-being of the people of Balochistan, particularly women, through this project.
Reiterating his dedication to the health and wellness of women and children, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq highlighted several initiatives undertaken during his tenure as Speaker including the reconstitution of the Parliamentary Taskforce on Sustainable Development Goals, which focuses on gender equality, quality education, good health and well-being. His continuous support for the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus, Organization of the National Parliamentary Meeting on Malnutrition of Mother & Child, Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights among others, demonstrate his commitment to these critical issues.
The Speaker underscored the deep-rooted and resilient friendship between Pakistan and China, recalling the visit of the President Xi Jinping, in 2013 where he also addressed the Parliament. He emphasized that the bonds of friendship between the two countries have withstood the test of time, characterized by mutual respect, trust, and cooperation.
While referring to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the Speaker commended its expansion to include socio-economic development, poverty alleviation, agricultural, and industrial cooperation. He acknowledged the high-quality execution of CPEC projects in Balochistan and across the country along with the immense economic and social benefits brought by this strong partnership.
Empowering young girls and the youth of Balochistan is vital for the long-term peace and stability of the region, the Speaker noted. Provision of education, health resources, and growth opportunities would enable young people to become active and informed members of their communities, fostering an environment of progress and harmony, the Speaker added.
The Speaker concluded his address by expressing deep appreciation to China for their continuous cooperation in diverse areas and joint efforts to bring peace and progress in the region and the world at large. He reaffirmed the national commitment to further strengthen Pakistan-China friendship and highlighted the importance of continued cooperation.
