STRENGTHENING TIES: German Parliamentary Delegation Meets with NA Deputy Speaker in Islamabad
In a significant display of diplomatic camaraderie, a high-level delegation from the Federal Republic of Germany’s Parliament met with Syed Mir Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Convener of the Pak-German Parliamentary Friendship Group, in Islamabad today.
The meeting aimed to fortify bilateral relations, parliamentary cooperation, and explore avenues for collaboration in trade, education, science, technology, and other areas of mutual interest. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation and parliamentary diplomacy, acknowledging the historic ties between Pakistan and Germany.
The German delegation, led by Mr. Michael Müller, praised Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and stability, and identified potential areas of collaboration, including renewable energy and climate change initiatives. Discussions also centered around parliamentary exchanges, youth engagement, and academic programs.
Deputy Speaker Shah briefed the delegation on Pakistan’s legislative priorities, economic reforms, and the government’s commitment to foreign investment. Both sides expressed optimism about the future of Pak-German relations, agreeing to continue working closely to address common challenges and opportunities.
The meeting was attended by the German Ambassador to Pakistan, H. E. Alfred Grannas, and Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Syed Naveed Qamar. The Deputy Speaker also presented the traditional gift of Ajrak to the delegation, symbolizing the warm hospitality and cultural exchange between the two nations.
This significant visit marks a milestone in strengthening the Pak-German partnership, paving the way for future collaborations and cementing the bond between the two nations.
