President Zardari Sounds Alarm on Population Growth, Urges Action

In a stark warning, President Asif Ali Zardari highlighted the profound impact of Pakistan’s rapid population growth on the nation’s socio-economic development. With the country’s population projected to reach 383 million by 2050, the president emphasized the need for effective family planning and reproductive health services to address the challenges posed by this growth.

In his message on World Population Day, President Zardari noted that Pakistan’s young population, while a vibrant force for prosperity, requires access to quality education, healthcare, and employment opportunities, which are being strained by the imbalance between resources and population size.

The president stressed that managing population growth is crucial to ensure a healthier, more sustainable future, and achieving a balance between population and resources is essential for genuine prosperity. He urged all stakeholders to collaborate in addressing population challenges, emphasizing the importance of inclusive data in family planning and policy development.

By prioritizing health and family planning initiatives, President Zardari envisions a Pakistan where every pregnancy is planned, and every child is nurtured, loved, educated, and supported, echoing the dream of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. The president’s call to action aims to ensure a brighter future for generations to come.
