ISLAMABAD: The validation and consultation workshop of National Climate Finance Strategy (NCFS) was held here on Friday organized by the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination (MoCC & EC) in collaboration with the World Bank and National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF).
The primary purpose of the workshop was to facilitate MoCC & EC to take all stakeholders on board and incorporate their feedback / input in the final document.
A large number of relevant stakeholders from the Federal and Provincial departments, UN Agencies, Donor Partners, Private Sector, Banking Sector, Business industry, Civil Society Organization and Academia participated actively and shared their feedback and valuable inputs for further refinement and finalization of the NCFS.
The Strategy once approved will be helpful in creating a fiscal space for Pakistan’s climate action by helping access international climate finance and investments. It is a robust document designed to help and achieve climate resilience and low-carbon development for all sectors and all provinces and regions of the country.
The NCFS will help serve stakeholders across different tiers of decision-making to have a shared understanding of the climate finance.
