Pm Shehbaz Sharif Accelerates Pak-china Cooperation
Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to swiftly implement agreements and MoUs with China, emphasizing that delays will not be tolerated. He praised China as a “time-tested friend” that has consistently supported Pakistan in times of need.
Dynamic Pak-China Partnership
Chairing a review meeting on Pak-China cooperation, the Prime Minister highlighted the Chinese leadership’s commitment to expanding investment in Pakistan. He noted that the transfer of Chinese industries to Pakistan will boost the economy, increase exports, and create employment opportunities.
Progress and Plans
The meeting discussed progress on various projects launched with Chinese cooperation, including:
– Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway to be completed through Public Private Partnership
– 1,000 students to be sent to China for modern agricultural vocational training
– Plan to transfer power plants from imported coal to local coal in final stages
– Road show organized in Beijing to showcase business and investment opportunities in Pakistan
– Comprehensive roadmap presented for transferring Chinese industries to Pakistan
Boosting Bilateral Ties
The Prime Minister appreciated the steps taken by the Board of Investment (BoI) and directed relevant departments to facilitate Pakistani companies collaborating with Chinese companies. He emphasized the need for swift implementation of agreements to strengthen Pak-China cooperation.
