A joint team of cant boards and administration formed to end encroachment on Nalla Lai
Rawalpindi : Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak along with Station Commander Ahmad Nawaz presided over the meeting held regarding anti-encroachment and cleanliness. While reviewing the field ctivities, he said that relief can be given to the people through joint efforts out of the discussion of jurisdiction. He said that the purpose of organizing a joint meeting of the Cant Boards and the administration is to improve mutual coordination so that there is no jurisdictional problem can hurdle the process of public welfare. Commissioner Rawalpindi, while forming a joint team for anti-encroachment along Nullah Lai said that along with the elimination of encroachment, desilting of the Nullah should also be done timely in order to avoid flooding. He said that five tributaries of Nullah Lai come under the limits of Cant boards and like other tributaries, their timely desilting is also necessary. He directed that full support should be extended to cant boards for cleaning and desalination.
Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema, Additional CEO Chaklala Canton Board Basit Ehsan, CCB Lt. Col. Basharat, RCB Lt. Col. Sajjad, Chief Officer District Council Kamran Khan, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Imran Ali, Director General PHA Ahmed Hasan Ranjha, Assistant Commissioner City and Cantt along with other concerned officers were present in this meeting held at Commissioner Office Rawalpindi.
Engineer Aamir Khattak further said that the anti-encroachment operation should be divided ward-wise and road-wise to clear the respective areas alternately and special attention should be paid to the elimination of permanent encroachments. He said that providing a clean environment to the people of Rawalpindi is our first priority, for which it is necessary to increase the number of transfer stations in Rawalpindi. He directed that a place should be identified for setting up a temporary transfer station in each tehsil. Speaking on the occasion, Station Commander Ahmad Nawaz said that we strive for clean area, efficient Human resource and optimal value of available resources so that the measures taken for the convenience of the public can be proved effective. He said that the best coordination between the Cant boards and the Rawalpindi administration should be ensured so that any problem identified can be solved immediately.
