Advancing Gender Equality in Legislation: A Workshop on Gender-Sensitive Legislative Drafting

Islamabad:The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC), led by MNA Dr. Shahida Rehmani, Secretary WPC, is proud to host an international workshop titled “Advancing Gender Equality in Legislation: A Workshop on Gender-Sensitive Legislative Drafting”. The two-day workshop is being held at the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS), Sector F-5 Islamabad from December 14 to December 15, 2024. This prestigious event will convene experts, policymakers, and legislators from Commonwealth Parliamentarians to foster dialogue and collaboration on embedding gender equity into legislative processes.

Participants will represent diverse nations, international organizations, and advocacy groups. The workshop will explore global best practices in gender-sensitive legislative drafting and address pressing issues such as removing systemic biases in existing laws, promoting women’s representation, and ensuring that new legislation meets the needs of all genders.
