ANF recovers 52 kg drugs in five operations
RAWALPINDI : In a series of five operations, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfully recovered 52 kilograms of drugs and apprehended six individuals, according to a spokesperson from ANF Headquarters on Thursday.
The spokesperson detailed the operations, starting with the seizure of 472 grams of heroin from a passenger bound for Jeddah at Karachi Airport. In another operation, 680 grams of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ‘ice,’ was intercepted from a parcel destined for Bahrain at the DHL office in Karachi.
In Faqirabad, Peshawar, authorities uncovered 24 kilograms of hashish and 26.4 kilograms of opium, leading to the arrest of a suspect. At the ‘Sakhi Sher Shah’ Toll Plaza in Multan, a woman was found in possession of 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine and was subsequently arrested.
Additionally, 200 narcotic tablets were recovered from three suspects in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi.
The suspects have been charged under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are currently underway.
