Asad Umar says he can’t even think of parting with PTI
LAHORE:Former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar said on Wednesday he had not joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) as he couldn’t even think of parting with the PTI.
Speaking to reporters outside Lahore’s anti-terrorism court (ATC), he rejected rumours of joining the PPP and called it “mere propaganda.”
Umar said he was in Lahore and didn’t join any party. He also urged Fawad Chaudhry to keep calm and avoid harsh words.
Earlier, the hearing was held on his interim bail in May 9 arson case.
The court inquired about inclusion of Asad Umar in the investigation and the lawyer responded in the affirmative.
A police officer stated that the investigation officer in three cases was not present in court.
The counsel for Asad Umar said he appeared in the JIT and a video evidence was also available.
However, a police officer said Asad Umar didn’t appear in the investigation.
The counsel reiterated that his client appeared three times for the investigation and he had been on interim bail for 14 months.
The court adjourned the case and summoned the DSP (Legal) in person in the next hearing.
