Awareness Seminar for Intermediate and BS Program Admissions
Rawalpindi:An awareness seminar was held on August 12, 2024, at the Government Graduate College for Women, B Block, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, under the supervision of Principal Dr. Fatima Gill. This seminar was part of the mission of honorable CM Punjab Madam Maryam Nawaz to promote admissions in public sector colleges and to foster the vision of HED (Higher Education Department).
The seminar was organized by Assistant Professors Dr. Hina Irum and Dr. Nida Riaz from the Department of Psychology. Distinguished guests, parents, and students from the city attended the event. Among the honorable guests were Dr. Jamal Nasir, President of Green Task Force Pakistan and former Health Minister; Mr. Saqib Rafiq, Chairman of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Aamir Fida Faracha, former MD Bait-ul-Mal; Mr. Muhammad Ijaz Sain Ji Murgh Pulao; Mr. Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmed of Fine Autos and Electrical Engineering Works; Mr. Khawaja Jahanzeb Riaz, owner of Fine Builders; Mr. Naveed Kanwal, President of People’s Traders; Mr. Faisal Shahzad, Vice President of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Mr. Tariq Mahmood, former engineer at the State Bank of Pakistan. Additionally, a large number of students and parents participated in the seminar.
The event officially began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the presentation of a Naat in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Information was provided regarding the programs, facilities, and qualifications of the faculty at the college. Emphasis was placed on community support to harness students’ abilities and promote confidence in the high standard of education in public institutions.
Dr. Jamal Nasir, Mr. Muhammad Ijaz, and Mr. Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmed individually took responsibility for paying the admission fees of 20 students each and assured their continued support for the students in the future. The Principal expressed her gratitude to all the honorable guests for their assistance and encouragement of the students. The parents also appreciated the facilities provided at the college and the efforts made to facilitate admissions. The event concluded with the national anthem.
