Balochistan Govt signs MoU to provide interest free loan to graduates for starting businesses

QUETTA : The Government of Balochistan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Akhuwat to provide interest free loan to young graduates for starting businesses. The MoU was signed during a simple but impressive ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Wednesday.

The Chief Secretary of Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, signed the documents on behalf of the Government of Balochistan while Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib signed on behalf of Akhuwat.

The ceremony was also attended by Senator Sardar Umar Khan Gorgage, Parliamentary Secretary Asfandyar Kakar, Agha Shahzaib Durrani, MNA Ahmad Shah Gorgage, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Imran Zarkoon and Government of Balochistan Spokesperson Shahid Rind.

According to the statement issued from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Wednesday, the MoU outlines that the Government of Balochistan and Akhuwat would collaborate to provide interest-free loans to unemployed graduates.

The statement read that these loans will be issued based on a viable business plan and will be repayable in easy installments.

Graduate women and members of minority communities will also benefit from this loan scheme, it stated.
