BEOE Blacklists 40 Technical Trade Centers Amid Fraud Allegations
Islamabad: Shakila Jalil
A thorough investigation by the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) has led to the blacklisting of approximately 40 technical trade centers across Pakistan due to numerous complaints and involvement in fraudulent activities targeting innocent citizens.
According to an official source, the BEOE, an attached department of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HD), has been working to regulate emigration under the Emigration Ordinance of 1979 and promote the emigration of Pakistani citizens. The department is also responsible for protecting the interests and welfare of emigrants, advising the Federal Government on emigration policies, and monitoring Overseas Employment Promoters.
The investigation revealed that the blacklisted technical trade centers were involved in fraudulent activities, including deceiving citizens with false promises of overseas employment opportunities. The BEOE has warned foreign job-seekers to only approach valid Overseas Employment Promoters to avoid losses.
– 40 technical trade centers blacklisted due to fraud allegations
– 5048 Overseas Employment Promoters (OEP) licenses declared invalid
– 670 licenses canceled, 805 expired, and the rest surrendered
– Only 2,577 OEP licenses remain valid
Recommendations:
– Foreign job-seekers must verify the authenticity of Overseas Employment Promoters
– Regularly check the BEOE’s official webpage for updates
– Report any suspicious activities to the authorities
The BEOE’s efforts to regulate emigration and protect citizens from fraudulent activities are commendable. However, the investigation highlights the need for continued vigilance and awareness among foreign job-seekers to avoid falling prey to fraudulent schemes.
