CDA Chairman directs setting up kiosks, desks for plant distribution
ISLAMABAD:Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Friday instructed setting up kiosks and desks at main markets and malls for distributing plants and flags to boost citizen participation in the monsoon tree plantation drive.
The CDA Chairman who also holds the charge of Chief Commissioner Islamabad chaired a meeting to review the performance of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration.
The meeting focused on various key initiatives, including the anti-encroachment drive, price control efforts, Islamabad Food Authority’s activities, land record digitization, and the ongoing plantation drive.
The Chief Commissioner was apprised on establishing embassy enclaves for various countries and major donors as part of the plantation drive.
On the progress of the anti-encroachment drive, he instructed the installation of fencing on recovered land to prevent future encroachments.
He also directed the ICT Administration to release weekly data comparing fruit and vegetable prices in Islamabad with other cities to ensure strict price control.
The meeting also reviewed the Islamabad Food Authority’s activities, with directives to digitize its operations and upgrade its model based on the Punjab Food Authority.
The Chief Commissioner emphasized the need for completing land record digitization, establishing centers with necessary infrastructure, and hiring required human resources.
