2. Azadi Float Symbolizes National Unity" "Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's Initiative Promotes Harmony

RAWALPINDI: The Azadi float, which have been prepared under the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has been formally inaugurated in a colorful ceremony held at Double Road, Rawalpindi. The float was inaugurated by Member National Assembly Hanif Abbasi and Barrister Malik Aqeel. The float is a symbol of unity of Pakistan which includes models of important buildings of all provinces of Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The float will reach Lahore on August 14
In the opening ceremony, members of Provincial Assembly Punjab Shazia Rizwan, Zebun Nisa Awan, Rifat Abbasi, Asma Abbasi, Malik Ifthar and Malik Mansoor, besides Executive Director Punjab Councils of Arts Ghulam Sagheer, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema and people from different walks of life participated.


Speaking on the occasion, Member of National Assembly Hanif Abbasi said that this float is a symbol of national unity and Punjab has represented all provinces and federating units by playing the role of elder brother. He said that whenever the PML-N has come to the government, it has played the role for national unity and development. He said that this national unity float has been inaugurated in a grand manner and it is a journey of development and national unity which the country needs at this time.
Barrister Aqeel Ahmed said that today the country is in dire need of harmony and brotherhood and this float prepared on the instruction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz should be warmly welcomed.
Apart from Minar e Pakistan, models of Quaid-e-Azam’s residence in Balochistan, Khyber Pass of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Quaid’s masoleum in Sindh, Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir and Bomburit Masjid in Gilgit-Baltistan have been built on the float.
The float will reach Gujar Khan on the morning of August 11 and will stay at Jhelum on the night of August 11. After a one-night halt at Jhelum, the float will reach Gujarat on August 12 and Gujranwala on August 13.
A musical night was organized on this occasion in which famous singers Humira Arshad and Dr. Mubashera Hafeez besides Mohsin Pasha and local artists performed their art.
