DG RDA Forms Special Enforcement Squad on Directives of Chief Minister Punjab
RAWALPINDI: In compliance with the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has intensified its crackdown on encroachments across the city. Under the leadership of Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza, a significant meeting was held at RDA headquarters to strategize the initiative.
During the meeting, the DG RDA announced the formation of a special Enforcement Squad dedicated to the eradication of encroachments in Rawalpindi. This squad, composed of six Inspectors, will operate under the supervision of the Assistant Director Building Control, RDA. The team has been empowered to take strict action against encroachments in all areas under RDA’s jurisdiction.
A spokesperson for the RDA stated that the Director General has tasked the Additional Director General RDA with monitoring the squad’s performance daily. This seven-member squad will be held accountable for their effectiveness in dealing with encroachments, ensuring that prompt and decisive action is taken.
The Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that encroachments not only degrade the aesthetic appeal of the city but also pose significant challenges during the monsoon season due to blockages on the banks of drains and canals. “We will no longer tolerate actions that cause inconvenience to the citizens,” she added firmly.
The meeting saw the participation of Additional Director General RDA Awais Manzoor Tarar, Director Admin and Finance RDA Asif Mahmood Janjua, and Director Building Control Jamshed Aftab, who collectively pledged their support to the newly formed squad in its mission to restore the city’s order and beauty.
