“Pakistan’s Ministry of Human Rights Takes a Giant Leap Towards Digitalization

In a landmark decision, the Ministry of Human Rights has announced the digitization of the disability certificate issuance process for People with Disabilities (PWDs). This revolutionary step aims to streamline the procedure, reduce delays, and enhance accessibility.

A high-level meeting was convened to discuss the implementation of this initiative, attended by representatives from the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, PIMS, Poly Clinic, NIRM, Chairman Medical Assessment Board Dr. Fareedullah Zamir, and ED SPRC.

The meeting resulted in several key decisions, including the introduction of an online system for submitting and tracking applications, enabling easy access and monitoring of progress. Digital certificates will replace traditional physical copies, ensuring increased security and efficiency. To ensure the accuracy of provided information, NADRA’s database will be linked to the system.

The successful implementation of this digital system will require collaboration among stakeholders from healthcare, social welfare, and IT sectors. This joint effort aims to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for PWDs in Pakistan.

Federal Secretary for Human Rights, Allah Dinuo Khawaja, stated, “This initiative will facilitate PWDs, ensuring their rights and dignity are respected. Digitalization will play a vital role in empowering PWDs, aligning with the Ministry’s commitment to comprehensive development.”

The Ministry of Human Rights is determined to promote policies and actions that enhance the rights and well-being of all citizens, particularly PWDs.”
