FIA Cracks Down on Hate Speech in Kohat: Warns of Stern Action Against Offenders
In a bid to maintain peace and harmony in the region during the sensitive month of Muharram, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched a crackdown on hate speech in Kohat. A team from the agency’s cybercrime wing has been dispatched to the area to monitor and prevent the spread of hateful content on social media.
The FIA has warned individuals and groups against uploading or sharing posts and videos that promote hate speech based on race, disability, religion, ethnicity, or gender. Elders from various communities have been urged to spread the word and ensure that all stakeholders are on board to maintain peace in the region.
According to Assistant Director FIA Fakhr e Alam, three teams will be deployed to Hangu, Orakzai, and Kurram districts to monitor the situation closely. Combined and separate jirgas of Sunni and Shia community elders are being held by the deputy commissioners to ensure foolproof measures for peace during Muharram.
The FIA has made it clear that stern action will be taken against anyone found violating the guidelines, and no stone will be left unturned to ensure peace in the region.
