Flash flooding in hill torrents of D G Khan, Larkana, Hyderabad in next 48 hours: FFD
ISLAMABAD :The Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) has predicted high to very high flash flooding in hill torrents of D G Khan Division and nullahs of Zhob, Sibbi, Nasirabad and Kalat Division while medium to high-level flash flooding in Larkana and Hyderabad (Dadu and Jamshoro Districts) during the next 48 hours.
According to FFD Lahore, medium to high-level flood is also expected in River Kabul and its tributaries during the said period.
Presently, River Indus is experiencing a rising medium flood at Chashma which in a low flood at Tarbela-Kalabagh reach and Taunsa Barrage.The river Kabul is also in low flood with falling trend at Warsak-Nowshera reach while other major rivers are flowing normally.
The combined live storage of the country’s major reservoirs (Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma stand at 9.558 MAF against the maximum live storage capacity of 13.321 MAF.
The FFD has predicted scattered to widespread thunderstorm rain of moderate intensity with isolated heavy falls with one or two very heavy falls over Islamabad and Punjab during the next 24 hours.
