IHC orders authorities to provide facilities to PTI founder enlisted in jail manuals
ISLAMABAD:The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday ordered the jail authorities to provide all facilities to incarcerated former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan according to the jail manuals.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of the IHC conducted hearing on plea filed by the PTI founder’s sister Naureen Niazi seeking better amenities for her brother languishing in jail for more than a year.
Lawyer Shoaib Shaheen contended that the former PM wasn’t even allowed to speak to his children on WhatsApp, to which Adiala jail superintendent said WhatsApp call wasn’t a part of the jail manual.
Justice Tahir interrupted and ordered the superintendent to arrange call of the PTI founder with his sons through any means instead of creating any trouble for himself.
The court also ordered to provide newspaper to the jailed former PM.
