International Conference Concluded at PMAS-AAUR
Rawalpindi: Speakers at the conference said that digital transformation is an urgent need in the sector of business management and stressed that entrepreneurship must be promoted among the youth.
They stated this at the concluding ceremony of the two days 1st International Conference on “Breaking Boundaries: Digital Transformation and Innovative Management Science Practices” held at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS_AAUR), here on Thursday.
The conference was organized by the University Institute of Management Sciences (UIMS) of PMAS-AAUR in collaboration with Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) and Network of Academies of Sciences in Islamic Countries (NASIC).
The aim of the conference was to understand the latest digital transformation trends and their implications for businesses, emphasizing the importance of breaking traditional boundaries for organizational success.
Additionally, the event was aimed to bridge the gap between theory and practical applications by providing attendees with opportunities to explore various fields, learn about the latest research and discoveries, and discuss ideas for implementation.
Panel discussions, interactive sessions and keynote addresses took place while 18 speakers including six from abroad online participated in two days of the conference.
A number of renowned personalities addressed the conference and shared their thoughts and experiences on different topics including Innovations and Disruptions in Fintech, Harnessing Big Data for Business Intelligence, loT, Cyber security, and Industry 4.0. With a focus on themes such as digital transformation, sustainable practices, and smart manufacturing, the event highlighted how emerging technologies like block chain, cloud computing, digital twins, and green tech are reshaping the future of finance, industry, and supply chains.
Chairman HEC Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad was the chief guest at the concluding session of the conference. In his address, he highlighted how digital innovation is essential for driving efficiency, growth, and competitive advantage in today’s dynamic business environment.
He opined that no business can survive presently without Digital transformation. He stressed upon the universities to focus on transformation of technology and said that Pakistani youth is on top for achieving foreign scholarship.
He lauded the efforts of the PMAS-AAUR for organizing the conference on the most important topic and also assured full cooperation from HEC.
Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood Khan, Secretary General, NASIC said that research is necessary for innovations and we have to work hard according to the digital era and international standards. He appreciated the PMAS-AAUR for organizing such an important conference and called for collective efforts to take the country forward on the path of economic development.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR in his address hoped that this conference will be helpful to find opportunities and future directions. He said that there is a huge potential in the youth to take the country forward through digitalization. He also said that everybody should acquire the latest technological skills for capacity building.
Prof. Dr. Ikram Ali Malik Director UIMS said that breaking traditional boundaries is the need of the era and highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between academic research and industry. He said that we have to find new opportunities in different disciplines and also need to train people for digital transformation.
