IPO Pakistan strengthens ties with PIPRA
ISLAMABAD:Chairperson IPO-Pakistan, Ambassador (r) Farukh Amil on Friday met with a delegation from the Pakistan Intellectual Property Rights Association (PIPRA) to attain the maximum productivity in the institution.
The delegation comprised of Sultan Ahmed Sheikh, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan (Past Chairman PIPRA), Syed Aquil Ali Shah (Chairman PIPRA), Saleem Ghulam Hussain, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan (Senior Vice Chairman PIPRA), Salman Ahmed Sheikh, Advocate High Court (Member Managing Committee PIPRA), and Didar Karim, Advocate High Court (Honorary Secretary PIPRA), said a press release issued here.
The meeting focused on IP-related issues while the delegation highlighting key challenges such as Pakistan’s accession to international instruments, amendments to IP laws, and fee structures.
The Chairperson IPO-Pakistan reiterated his appreciation of the private sector’s role in enhancing the IP system in Pakistan and assured the delegation that IPO Pakistan would support proposals from the lawyers’ community to strengthen the IP system and improve service delivery.
The Chairperson also briefed the delegation on recent developments at IPO Pakistan. Senior officials, Mr. Muhammad Rafiq, Registrar of Trademarks, Syed Nasrullah, Registrar of Copyright, and Ms. Zubia Hassan, Controller of Patents, were also present during the meeting.
