Minister Rahimoon Calls for Bold Action to Tackle Environmental Challenges in Sindh

Karachi, July 8 – In a bid to tackle the pressing environmental issues plaguing the province, Sindh Minister for Environment, Climate Change, and Coastal Development, Dost Muhammad Rahimoon, urged for a comprehensive strategy that addresses these challenges on a sustainable basis.

Chairing a progress review meeting of the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), the minister stressed the need for a multifaceted approach to combat environmental degradation. The meeting was attended by provincial Secretary Climate Change, Nabeela Umer, and other officials.

District in-charges from across Sindh presented detailed reports highlighting environmental problems, progress made, and measures taken to address them. The reports encompassed various projects, including air pollution control, water treatment, forest preservation, and the implementation of environmental laws.

The meeting identified key challenges, including funding constraints, public awareness, and technical support issues. To overcome these hurdles, the minister advocated for harnessing modern technology and launching public awareness campaigns to sensitize the public about their vital role in environmental protection.

Minister Rahimoon commended the efforts of district in-charges and emphasized the need for intensified efforts towards environmental protection and sustainable development. With a united resolve, Sindh is poised to tackle its environmental challenges head-on.”
