Islamabad : “I extend complete support to the minorities in Pakistan”, says Hon. Convener (WPC) Dr. Shahida Rehmani, MNA today during a meeting with National Lobbying Delegation for Minorities in Pakistan, at Parliament House today.
During the meeting various socio-economic & cultural issues faced by the religious minorities were discussed in great detail. The meeting focused on two main agendas points; Hindu Marriage Act and Equal Property rights act, which guarantees rights of religious minorities under the 1973 Constitution of Pakistan.
The delegation highlighted the struggles of Hindu, Christian and Sikh women in Pakistan. The Delegation was pleased with the support extended & endorsement received by Dr. Shahida Rehmani and affirmed to extend complete assistance to WPC in the legislation process.
Dr Shahida Rehmani ensured the support of the WPC to the women from minority groups on legislative as well as bureaucratic levels. She affirmed pursuing the implementation of the legislation in the provinces to safeguard women from minority groups throughout Pakistan.
