Lahore: In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Pakistan’s Asim Khan emerged victorious at the prestigious Jones Creek Open Squash Championship in the USA, claiming the coveted title and a prize money of $12,000.

The electrifying final, held in Johns Creek, Georgia, pitted Asim against his compatriot Ahsab Irfan, resulting in an enthralling all-Pakistani showdown. Despite losing the first game, Asim, currently ranked World No. 73, staged a remarkable comeback to secure a hard-fought victory, winning 11-7, 7-11, 4-11, and 4-11.

This triumph marks Asim’s third PSA title of the year and the 10th of his illustrious career, solidifying his position as a leading force in the squash world. His consistent performance has earned him accolades, having already clinched two titles in 2024 – the Wild Card Challenger in Washington and the Squash Inspire Challenger in March.

The all-Pakistani final at the Jones Creek Open is a testament to the growing dominance of Pakistani players on the international squash stage, heralding a bright future for the sport in the country.
