Navy Chief Forges Stronger Ties with Romania
Islamabad: In a significant move to bolster bilateral defence relations, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf embarked on an official visit to Romania, marking a new chapter in maritime cooperation between the two nations.
During his visit, Admiral Ashraf engaged in a combined meeting with Romanian military leadership, including Chief of Defence Staff General Gheorghita Vlad and Chief of Romanian Navy Vice Admiral Mihai Panait, onboard the Romanian Navy Frigate Regina Maria. The dignitaries deliberated on regional maritime security, professional matters of mutual interest, and bilateral military collaboration, acknowledging the importance of strong military ties.
Admiral Ashraf also delivered a lecture on “Collaborative Maritime Security” at the National Defence University of Romania, emphasizing the need for collective efforts in ensuring maritime security. He underscored Pakistan’s commitment to resolving maritime disputes through dialogue and negotiations, highlighting the nation’s contributions to regional maritime security initiatives.
This visit is poised to further augment and expand bilateral defence ties between Pakistan and Romania, fostering a stronger partnership in the realm of maritime security.
