Parliamentary Committee Receives Briefing On Economic Affairs Division
Islamabad: The Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Division convened its second meeting at Parliament House, chaired by Muhammad Atif, MNA. The Ministry of Economic Affairs Division (EAD) provided a comprehensive briefing on its evolution, mandate, organizational structure, and key functions.
Dr. Kazim Niaz, Secretary Ministry of Economic Affairs, and officials from the Ministry of Economic Affairs Division, delivered the briefing, offering insights into EAD’s historical evolution, debt management, external debt, and liabilities. The Ministry underscored its commitment to fostering economic growth, stability, and sustainable development through strategic planning and effective policy implementation.
The briefing highlighted EAD’s organizational structure, its role in coordinating with international financial institutions, and efforts to secure and utilize foreign economic assistance. The Ministry also addressed challenges faced, including shrinking concessional finance, global inflation, and changing global priorities.
