In a significant move, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the government is spearheading a comprehensive economic revival plan, prioritizing digitization and privatization of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). During a meeting with renowned British educationist Sir Michael Bayldon Barber, the prime minister reiterated the importance of strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. He expressed gratitude for the UK’s assistance in various sectors and reaffirmed his commitment to further enhance their partnership.

The prime minister revealed that the government is implementing a robust policy to boost exports, expand the tax base, and streamline low-performing entities. He highlighted the immense potential for exports in information technology and agriculture, showcasing Pakistan’s untapped economic strength.

A task management system has been established to monitor the performance of federal ministries, ensuring efficient governance. Sir Michael Barber lauded the government’s economic revival plan, acknowledging its potential for meaningful reforms. He expressed optimism that under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, Pakistan would overcome its economic challenges, with the UK offering cooperation in all sectors.
