Punjab Cabinet Approves “Roshan Gharana Program” to Illuminate Homes with Solar Power

In a landmark decision, the Punjab Cabinet has given the green light to the “Roshan Gharana Program”, a revolutionary initiative aimed at empowering consumers with solar panels to alleviate the burden of electricity bills. Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari announced that the program will provide solar panels to consumers using up to 500 units, with the Punjab government covering 90% of the cost and consumers paying only 10%.

This billion-rupee project is a testament to the Chief Minister’s commitment to reducing the economic burden on the common man. Azma Bokhari emphasized that the price of flour has been notified in Punjab for the first time in Pakistan’s history, a feat achieved under the current government.

Additionally, the Socio-Economic Registry will soon be operational, collecting data to facilitate subsidies and relief for beneficiaries. The government has also introduced e-tendering to ensure transparency and eliminate corruption.

Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat highlighted the government’s efforts to reform education, citing the success of the Danish School flagship project and improved matriculation results in government schools. The government aims to enhance public school systems, forcing private schools to lower their fees.

The Chief Minister has also announced awards worth 25 crore rupees for position holders’ children, and the government has successfully reduced the teacher shortage from 180,000 to 38,000 through smart policy initiatives.

This comprehensive approach to governance promises a brighter future for the people of Punjab.
