“Punjab’s Agricultural Revolution: Minister Syed Hussain Garmani Chairs High-Level Meeting
Rawalpindi: Punjab’s Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, Syed Hussain Garmani, chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of various schemes related to agricultural development in the province. The meeting was attended by top officials, including Secretary Agriculture Punjab, Iftikhar Ali Sahu, and Director General Agriculture Extension, Chaudhry Abdul Hamid.
The minister expressed his satisfaction with the progress made so far and emphasized the need for further acceleration of efforts to achieve the goals of the Punjab Agricultural Transformation Program. He also stressed the importance of ensuring the quality of agricultural machinery and equipment being provided to farmers under the program.
The meeting was informed that over 2.5 lakh farmers have applied online for the Chief Minister’s Kisan Card, out of which 94,000 applications have been approved and sent to the Bank of Punjab for further processing. Moreover, 734 orders have been received for the supply of modern machinery (pak seeders) to farmers, and efforts are being made to increase this number to 1000.
The minister directed the officials to ensure the provision of quality machinery to farmers and to expedite the process of registration of farmers who have not yet registered their mobile numbers. He also emphasized the need for promoting the use of solar-powered tubewells and for increasing the production of vegetables and fruits in the province.
The meeting was also attended by Special Secretary Agriculture Punjab, Shahnshah Faisal Azim, Director General Agriculture Information Punjab, Naveed Ismat Kahloon, and Director General Crop Reporting, Dr. Abdul Qayyum, among others.”
