The Crackdown Against Illegal Housing Societies Will Continue: DG RDA Kinza Murtaza
RAWALPINDI: Following directives from the Divisional Intelligence Committee, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Task Force is ramping up its operations against illegal housing schemes. The RDA Enforcement Squad has executed a significant operation targeting five illegal housing schemes:
Abdullah City, Avalon City, Discovery Garden, Moon Galaxy and Shahe Kharasan. These schemes are located in Mouzas Sehal, Rajar, Mujahid, Kolian Hameed and Chakra, Tehsil and District Rawalpindi. The operation led to the sealing and demolition of main gate, site offices, boundry walls, road dividers and street lights of these illegal housing schemes, according to an RDA spokesperson.
The operation was supervised by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Muhammad Abdul Aamer Khattak, along with the Director General (DG) RDA, the Additional DG RDA, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi, and the Chief Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi.
DG RDA Kinza Murtaza stated that, under the Commissioner’s guidance, the crackdown on illegal housing societies will continue vigorously to prevent fraud and protect citizens from exploitation. She emphasized that public complaints regarding illegal land occupation by housing scheme owners are being taken seriously, and strict actions will be taken against those involved in forceful land grabs.
The RDA consistently issues press releases to inform the public and advises citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes. The public is encouraged to visit the RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk) and only engage with approved housing schemes.
Despite previous warnings to cease illegal advertisements, bookings, and development activities, the owners of the mentioned housing schemes continued to operate booking offices in violation of regulations.
The joint operation team included officials from the RDA and Police Station Chontra/Chakri Rawalpindi. Key team members were Muhammad Usman Bajwa, Assistant Director Building Control RDA / Incharge Enforcement Squad, Mehwish Naseem, Assistant Director Planning RDA, along with RDA Scheme/Building Inspectors and other team members.
