MULTAN:A shooter-robber reported to have booked in more than 54 cases was killed in encounter, police said.
As per detail, Javed Joya, resident of Miran Pur, Melsi, was wanted to Mitru Tehsil Melsi police station in more than 54 cases and he was arrested just few days ago.
The accused was getting moved away to hold recovery of stolen goods. Police said when it reached out at location of Basti Haji Lalipur near Do Kota, some four number of accused persons attacked the police party to release their accomplice.
The attackers opened direct fire forcing police to retaliate. When the firing stopped and the attackers fled the scene, police witnessed the accused being under-custody laid dead on the spot.
SHO of Metro Police Station shifted body of the killed robber to THQ hospital for autopsy, it was said.
