SHOs directed to ensure presence at police stations
“In a bid to bolster the effectiveness of law enforcement, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Syed Ali Raza issued a directive to Station House Officers (SHOs) to maintain a visible presence at police stations, ensuring prompt attention to the grievances of the citizenry. This mandate was issued during a high-level meeting convened to assess the crime situation in the federal capital.
The gathering was attended by a coterie of top-ranking officials, including SSP Investigation, Zonal SPs, SP Investigation, SDPOs, SHOs, and the in-charge of the Car Cell. DIG Raza emphasized the imperative of intensifying efforts to apprehend perpetrators of heinous crimes, such as murder, robbery, and vehicle theft.
Furthermore, he decreed a concerted crackdown on narcotics peddlers, urging swift action against organized criminal syndicates. The DIG also called for the arrest of recidivist offenders and individuals involved in the illicit trade of kites and kite-flying, which poses a significant threat to human life.
In a bid to eradicate corruption, DIG Raza stipulated that all cases be investigated with merit, transparency, and expedition. He underscored the importance of prompt FIR registrations and the conduct of fair investigations. The DIG reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining peace and security during the forthcoming Muharram festivities, ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property through the deployment of all available resources.”
