Tax Community Association’s role highlighted at seminar
LAHORE :Appellate Inland Revenue Tribunal Chairman Mian Touqeer Aslam has commended the establishment of the Pakistan Tax Community Association as a significant advancement for enforcing tax laws and outlined the tribunal’s priorities.
Addressing a post-budget seminar titled “Amendments to Tax Laws and Their Implementation”, organised by the Pakistan Tax Community Association at a local hotel on Saturday, he said that transparent enforcement of tax laws was a top priority for the tribunal and that institutions like the tax community serve as a shining example for improving the tax system.
Appellate Tribunal Judicial Member Muhammad Mohsin Virk also addressed the seminar and emphasised that the formation of such tax community institutions would be beneficial for tax collection and enhancement, in addition to discussing the utility of the event in media interactions.
Lahore Chamber of Commerce President Kashif Anwar highlighted the need for tax laws to be simple and practical. The event was attended by several notable figures, including Customs Tribunal Chairman Hafiz Ansar-ul-Haq, Inland Revenue Chief Commissioner Abid Raza Bodla, Land Revenue Judicial Member Tariq Iftikhar, Fakhar-ul-Zaman Tarar, and Pakistan Tax Community Association President Muhammad Mansha Sekhira, among others.
At the end of the event, key personalities were presented with souvenirs.
