Lahore: The music industry remembers renowned playback singer Akhlaq Ahmad on his 25th death anniversary today. Born on January 10, 1946, Ahmad began his singing career in 1973 with the film ‘Pazaib’ and went on to become a prominent voice in the 1970s and 80s.

Akhlaq Ahmad’s iconic songs, such as “Sona Na Chandi Na koi Mehal” from the film Bandish and “Sawan Aye Sawan Jaye” from Chahat, remain etched in the memories of music lovers. Throughout his career, he sang nearly 117 songs in 86 films from 1973 to 1998.

Akhlaq Ahmad passed away on August 4, 1999, in London, after a battle with cancer. Today, his fans and the music industry pay tribute to his legacy and contributions to Pakistani music. His soulful voice and memorable songs continue to inspire new generations of artists and music enthusiasts alike.
