Young Parliamentarians Forum Holds Inaugural Meeting

Islamabad: The Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) held its inaugural meeting on August 8th, 2024, in Committee Room 5. The session was presided over by Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, President of YPF, and co-chaired by Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP).

Key Highlights:

– Chairman PMYP’s Address: Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan presented an overview of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP), highlighting its core components: Education, Employment, Engagement, and Environment.


– Historical Context: Punjab pioneered a comprehensive Youth Policy in 2011, followed by the Prime Minister’s Talent Program (PMTP) in 2013.
– Youth Programs Overview: The Chairman outlined existing and upcoming initiatives under PMYP, including skill development programs, laptop schemes, education endowment funds, and internship programs.
– International Engagement: Pakistan will chair the 10th Commonwealth Youth Ministers Meeting and host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2026, showcasing its commitment to global youth collaboration.
– Endorsement by YPF President: Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar endorsed the PMYP initiatives, committing to facilitate and promote them across relevant platforms to achieve youth empowerment objectives.
