Islamabad, Pakistan – The Soormiyun Cultural & Development Organization under Eco-Saheli Program is proud to commemorate World Humanitarian Day 2024 on August 19 with a dedicated social media campaign titled ‘Women Lead Resilience.’ This initiative, is the key part of the ongoing Eco-Saheli Program which was initiated as a campaign. This campaign under Eco-Saheli is used to raise awareness and inspire meaningful action toward building a more resilient and equitable society in Pakistan.
As the crisis caused by Climate Change continues to impact our communities, the most vulnerable among them are women, young girls and children, transgender individuals, and persons with disabilities, who bear the brunt of its devastating effects. The ‘Women Lead Resilience’ campaign highlights the essential role that these groups play in disaster response and recovery efforts. It underscores the urgent need to place them at the center of all relief and rehabilitation strategies.
“To rebuild a sustainable nation after any calamity, we must ensure the inclusion of women, transgender, handicapped, and marginalized communities to heal and strengthen our communities,” said Ms. Gulnaz Sheikh the Founder of Soormiyun {SCDO
Through a series of engaging interactive content, the ‘Women Lead Resilience’ campaign will spread the message of those who are often overlooked in humanitarian efforts. The Soormiyun Cultural & Development Organization, in collaboration with its Eco-Collaborators, invites the public to join this campaign by following and sharing the message on social media platforms and their social circles.
Together, we can honor the spirit of World Humanitarian Day by empowering the oppressed and vulnerable who are at the forefront of our fight against climate change to build a sustainable world.
