Hungarian Envoy to Pakistan Calls on National Assembly Speaker
NA Speaker, Hungarian Envoy Discuss Bilateral Ties & Parliamentary Cooperation
Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that Pakistan and Hungary enjoy a long-standing friendly relationship based on a shared commitment to global peace and sustainable development. It is crucial to further enhance these relations for the mutual benefit of the people on both sides, he remarked, during a meeting with the Hungarian Envoy to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Béla Fazekas, who called on him at the Parliament on Friday.
While discussing parliamentary cooperation, the Speaker emphasized regular interaction between parliaments, mainly through parliamentary friendship groups and the exchange of parliamentary delegations, in order to share and learn from each other’s experiences.
The Speaker also underscored the need to expand cooperation in other areas of mutual interest including trade, investment and education.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Speaker for his kind remarks and reiterated that Hungary views Pakistan as an important regional stakeholder. He also presented the invitation letter of the Hungarian Speaker to National Assembly Speaker, inviting him to lead parliamentary delegation to Hungary. The envoy also committed to actively pursue all matters focused at further strengthening of linkages in areas of mutual interest, in addition to fostering parliamentary and cultural exchanges.
