Rawalpindi’s PKLI to Get Major Upgrade, Officials Ensure Timely Completion

Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Aamer Khattak along with Member National Assembly Muhammad Hanif Abbasi visited Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute Rawalpindi. They made a detailed review of the medical facilities and ongoing development work provided at Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute Rawalpindi. Later, a meeting was held in the hospital under the chairmanship of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Aamer Khattak and Member National Assembly Muhammad Hanif Abbasi. DC Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema, MPA Raja Muhammad Hanif Advocate, Director Health Dr Ejaz Khan and other officers participated in the meeting. In a briefing by the concerned authorities in the meeting, it was stated that the hospital consists of 230 beds, 35 dialysis machines are active while the number of operation theaters is 6. Dialysis is done in three shifts, OPD and dialysis services are functional. The development work in the hospital is going on rapidly. Addressing the meeting, Member of National Assembly Muhammad Hanif Abbasi said that various steps are being taken to make Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute Rawalpindi fully functional. The process of appointing more nurses is about to be completed. Any issues regarding functioning of the hospital will be resolved quickly on priority basis. He said that MRI will be functional in the hospital in the first week of November. Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Aamir Khattak while addressing the meeting said that all the relevant departments including PHA, RWMC are fully cooperating with the hospital administration. The ongoing development work in the hospital will be completed on time. Any kind of negligence in this regard will not be tolerated. Commissioner Rawalpindi directed the building department and hospital administration to make activity chat and speed up the work.
