Volleyball Champions Honored in Grand Prize Distribution Ceremony
Islamabad, July 12 (APP): In a spectacular ceremony, the national senior and junior volleyball teams were feted for their outstanding performances in the Asian Volleyball Challenge (AVC) Cup and Central Junior Volleyball Championship. The event, held at a local hotel, was graced by Federal Secretary Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Nadeem Irshad Kayani as the chief guest.
The teams, who bagged silver and gold medals respectively, were awarded cash prizes in recognition of their remarkable achievements. Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob, Pakistan Sports Board Deputy Director General Shahid Islam, and other dignitaries were present to celebrate the teams’ success.
Federal Secretary Kayani emphasized the IPC ministry’s commitment to promoting sports development in Pakistan, announcing plans to organize a sports economy conference and prepare a targeted plan for talented athletes focusing on Olympics 2028. He also pledged support for the volleyball league and converting mini stadiums into academies to foster a sports culture.
PVF Chairman Yaqoob praised the national team for their international achievements and outlined plans for coaches and players, highlighting the need for increased funding to support participation in international events.
The ceremony was a testament to the teams’ hard work and dedication, inspiring future generations to excel in sports.
