Exports Is The Key To Pakistan’s Economic Revival,Ahsan Iqbal
Lahore: Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal sounded a clarion call for Pakistan to boost its exports, emphasizing that this is the sole path to achieving economic growth and overcoming the country’s financial challenges.
Addressing the 28th Textile Asia International Trade Fair 2024, Ahsan Iqbal stressed that Pakistan’s vast resources and potential must be harnessed through a focus on productivity, quality, and innovation to enhance competitiveness and economic development.
With over 550 companies from seven countries participating in the expo, the minister highlighted the significance of such trade fairs in promoting exports and showcasing ‘Made in Pakistan’ products globally.
Ahsan Iqbal set an ambitious target of increasing exports to over $100 billion and surpassing India by 2047, emphasizing that export growth should be a top government priority for a stable economy.
He also emphasized the need for unity among all stakeholders to overcome political differences and achieve progress, criticizing the opposition for focusing on protests rather than offering constructive solutions.
The minister described the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program as a temporary solution, urging Pakistan to move beyond it and focus on export-led growth to strengthen foreign exchange reserves, stabilize the Pakistani Rupee, and contribute to national economic stability.
