Education Ministry to start pink buses for female students, teachers from 7th August
ISLAMABAD :Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has announced on Friday that on the direction of Prime Minister of Pakistan, the dedicated pink buses would be soon available from 7th August for girl students and female teachers in Islamabad.
According to the Ministry, these pink buses will operate on all major routes, connecting rural areas to urban centers, making it easier and safer for them to commute.
Sharing the details of key benefits, the Ministry said that this project would ensure free, safe and convenient transportation for girl students and female teachers.
However, dedicated buses will reduce travel time and increase accessibility. It will also encourage girls’ education and women’s empowerment. The buses will connect rural areas to urban centers, promoting inclusivity, it added.
The buses will ply on all major routes of Islamabad, and would connect rural areas to urban centers, including educational institutions.
The dedicated buses will be introduced in phases, while regular monitoring and evaluation would ensur their smooth operation.
This initiative aims to promote girls’ education, women’s empowerment, and inclusive development in Islamabad. “We are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all” the ministry added.
