Islamabad: The steering committee of “The Art of Parenting” conference, chaired by Nilofar Bakhtiar, held a meeting at the Aga Khan Foundation office in Islamabad to discuss the launch of the manuals “Parwarish” and “Agoosh” and the way forward for the implementation of the project.
In her welcome address, Chairperson Nilofar Bakhtiar applauded the contributions of stakeholders and highlighted the success achieved so far, including the government’s keen interest in youth development. She welcomed the Asia Foundation on board and emphasized the need to fast-track the training of trainers and implement the plans across Pakistan.
The committee discussed the division of responsibilities, including the translation of manuals into Urdu and digitalization for outreach, dissemination, and mobilization of the community. Members also discussed the importance of considering provincial and zonal cultural differences during the implementation phase.
The meeting concluded with a clear plan of action, including the first phase of trainings and the changes to be inculcated for community mobilization. The committee is committed to working together to ensure the successful dissemination of the manuals across Pakistan, with the support of provincial and district governments.
